Portland FAQ

Questions Couples Ask Us

  • Do you serve Portland couples?
Absolutely — Portland couples are some of our favorites. Our styled ceremony space is in Beaverton, about 15 minutes from downtown Portland, and with Simply Eloped we come to your home or private location anywhere in the Portland Metro.
  • Where do Portland couples get a marriage license?
The Multnomah County office at 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Suite 175, is open Monday–Friday 8:30am–4pm, no appointment needed, and the fee is $60. You can start the application online first. See our Multnomah County guide for the full walkthrough.
  • Is a Multnomah County license valid in Beaverton?
Yes. An Oregon marriage license is valid in every Oregon county for 60 days from its effective date. Apply in Portland, marry in Beaverton — completely legal.
  • How is this different from a courthouse wedding in Portland?
It’s private, personal, and on your schedule. No crowded waiting room, no case numbers, no rushing. You book a time that works for you, we keep the ceremony warm and unhurried, and we file all the paperwork afterward with priority mailing included.
  • Do we need witnesses?
Oregon law requires two witnesses at every marriage ceremony. Bring your own at no cost, or we can provide witnesses for $25 per person — even if it’s just the two of you.
